Ernest J. DeCamp, Sr, age 86, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Carmela DeCamp for 60 years, died on Sunday, December 23, in the Veterans Hospital, West Haven. Mr. DeCamp was born in Greenwich, CT on July 17, 1926 to the late Warren and Mary McDonald DeCamp. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, serving our country honorably in the Marine Corps and earning a Purple Heart. He worked as a door to door bread man for Bork and Stevens, then for Dugans and retired from Wonder Bread. Survivors include his sons: Ernest J. DeCamp, Jr. of Milford, Brian P. DeCamp of Milford, Michael D. DeCamp of Shelton and Ronald H. DeCamp of Waterbury, two brothers; Ronald DeCamp of Cape Cod, William DeCamp of Meriden, two sisters; Marleen Kyle of Georgia and Donna Ward of Ridgefield and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. DeCamp is pre-deceased by his son, Scott A. DeCamp, and his brother's; Warren DeCamp and John DeCamp who was a state police officer. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 8:30-10:30AM in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A funeral mass will follow at 11AM in Saint Agnes Church, Milford. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Kings Highway Cemetery,Milford.
