Mrs. Florence Mildred Pallotto, age 90, of Milford, beloved wife of 68 years to the late Patrick A. Pallotto, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at her home. She was born on November 30, 1925 in Pittsfield, Mass., and was the middle of seven children and the daughter of the late Dewey and Maude Boesse. Florence grew up in South Yarmouth, Mass, with her siblings, Kenneth, Marilyn, Jean, Alice, Robert and Helen. She graduated from Yarmouth High School in 1944 after competing in all sports activities and studying in college preparatory courses. Florence was first employed in the wartime defense industry in New Bedford, Mass., fabricating air/water rubber craft for the military services. Later she returned to S. Yarmouth as a librarian and proofreader at the Cape Cod Standard Times in Hyannis, Mass., where she met her future husband, Patrick. They married a year later on October 13, 1945 in St. Francis Xavier Parish in Hyannis.  Terminating their jobs in Mass., they moved to Conn., where they took jobs with the Waterbury Democrat, Florence as a proofreader and Patrick, a front page news and layout editor. Florence had a long affiliation with the Girl Scouts, as a troop leader and Katoya Camp Director. She was a member of Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering at the summer fairs and other activities. She was also an avid bowler, where she competed in several leagues in Stratford, Fairfield, Bridgeport and Milford, and bowled in different competitions around the country. Florence is survived by three devoted daughters, Patricia Schickler of Bridgeport, Carol Krieger of Parkton, Maryland, and Nicola DiViesta of North Haven and 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 7 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford followed by a Service of Requiem on Friday July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church in Milford.
