John J LaSella, Sr.

John J. LaSella, Sr. age 79, beloved husband of 60 years to Gail (Blankschen) LaSella of Milford entered into eternal rest on Dec. 1, 2016 at CT Hospice in Branford.

He was born on June 20, 1937 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Frank and Delia (Gilbride) LaSella. Mr. LaSella was the control room operator at CT Light & Power for 30 years before his retirement. John married his wife, Gail at Our Lady of Peace Church on August 10, 1957 and they continued their catholic faith by attending St. Gabriel Church and St. Ann Church in Milford. He was truly a family man, always loved spending time together with his family and was Salt of the Earth.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his devoted children, Susan LaSella of Milford, Judy Baldyga and her husband Ray of Easton, John J. LaSella, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Parkston, SD and William LaSella of Niantic, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Frank LaSella of Milford, two sisters, Violet Battalino of Milford and Agnes Blankschen of Danbury. His twin sister, predeceased him at the tender age of two, Joan LaSella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
