John Patrick Olcott

John Patrick Olcott, age 63, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016.  He was the loving husband of Sheila Bonvicini Olcott for 11 years. He was born in Bridgeport on October 1, 1952 and was a resident of Milford for over 55 years. 

John worked independently as an auto body technician for many years. He was a creative artist specializing in stained glass and also a gifted guitarist. John was an avid reader and could retain details years later. He collected mechanical toys and all things eclectic and quirky. John was a true nature lover, took impeccable care of his plants, and admired and fed all species of birds in their yard. He was soft-spoken, and always a gentleman.

In addition to his wife Sheila, John is survived by, and will be greatly missed by his son Jonathan Olcott (Lindsay) and his soon to be born grandchild of Charlotte, NC, his sisters Phyllis Farrell, and Marilyn Crofutt  (Mark) of Milford, and step-daughters, Olivia and Jacqueline DelPrete. In addition, John had a special bond with each of his nephews and nieces who will always miss having him in their lives. He was predeceased by his son, David Olcott, his mother and stepfather, Marion and Max Lemachko, and his sister Marion (Babe) Dickinsen. He also loved his many animal companions over the years, especially his dog, Jasmine.

Family and friends may call on Friday, August 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
