Juan "John" R Flores

Mr. Juan R. “John” Flores, age 79, beloved husband of 36 years to Irma Maldonado Flores, of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 12, 2016 surrounded by his family.  He was the son of the late Julio Colon and Concepcion Flores.  John was born on June 18, 1937 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico.

John was a Territory Manager for the Merit Oil Company for over 35 years serving CT, NY, and NJ before his retirement.  He also worked during election times at the Margaret Egan Center polling station for the City of Milford and received the Secretary of the State’s 2006 Public Service Award.  He volunteered at the St. Ambrose Church in Bridgeport for Bingo for many years.  John was an avid reader; he enjoyed computers and loved all genres of music.  He was very proud of his lawn and garden.  John will be missed by all who knew him.  In addition to his devoted wife, John leaves five children: John Flores Jr. and his companion Ursula both of NYC, Anthony Flores of NYC, Joann L. Flores of Bridgeport, CT, Jeffrey J. Flores of CA, Bryan A. Flores and his wife Milissa of Shelton, CT, 16 grandchildren, the youngest, Kellen John Flores, who will miss his “abuelo”, six great-grandchildren, his beloved dog “Rocky”, several sisters and brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.   A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, Milford.
