Linda Susan (Carpenter) Dempsey

Linda Susan Dempsey, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 26, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus after a long illness. Daughter of the late William T. Carpenter and was born on October 3, 1950 in New Haven. Linda graduated from Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield in 1968. She was a life-long area resident. She worked in the Faculty Services Department at Norwalk Community College for over 19 years before her retirement.

She is survived by two sons, David M. Dempsey, Jr. and Greg S. Dempsey and his fiancé Kellie, two sisters, Stacie (Robert) Cavallaro of Ansonia, and Kathleen Falandys of Fairfield, two brothers, Gerard (Diane) Carpenter of Shelton and William Carpenter of FL. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Doris Lahr of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her brother in law, Frank Falandys.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Services will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the American Lung Association.
