Louise (Insalaco) LaVecchia

Louise Insalaco LaVecchia, age 95, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Louis LaVecchia, died on Thursday, January 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. LaVecchia was born in Canicatti, Italy on March 16, 1917 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Giacinta Insalaco.  Louise worked for the Milford Board or Education for over 20 years in their cafeteria.Survivors include her two children: Louis A. LaVecchia (Stella) of Milford, daughter  Angela Hightower of Florida, five grandchildren, Jaime Lane (Matthew), Erin Marschner (Brandon), Louis LaVecchia (Jaime), Matthew and Nicholas LaVecchia, seven great-grandchildren; Audrey, Dalton, Bennett, Brandon, Jack, Jayden and Ryan, sisters Virginia Norton (Hubert), Ruth Ovesny (John), Martha Insalaco, and brother Peter Insalaco (Lucille).  Mrs. LaVecchia is pre-deceased by her son-in-law Bill Hightower, her sister Mary Insalaco and her brothers Anthony, Stephen, and Thomas Insalaco.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Louise loved family gatherings and being “Nonnie” to her seven great-grandchildren.  She made many afghans and quilts for family, the guild and charities.  She enjoyed weekly lunch dates and playing cards with her sisters and close friends.  Her grandchildren will always cherish her stories when she reminisced about her past.  She also enjoyed trips to the casino, and cruises with her son and daughter-in-law.Friends may call on Sunday night from 4:00-7:00PM in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass DIRECTLY in Christ The Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd, Milford on Monday at 10:00AM.  Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Milford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Milford Senior Citizen Center, 9 Jepson Drive, Milford, CT 06460 ATTN: Meals on Wheels Program in Mrs. LaVecchia's memory.  To leave an online condolence, please visit, www.gregoryfdoylefuneralhome.com.
