Margaret S (Olexovitch) Leavy

Mrs. Margaret S. Leavy, age 89, beloved wife of 68 years to Frank L. Leavy, Sr. of Milford, entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2016. She was born on December 5, 1926 in Taylor, PA, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Dicko) Olexovitch. She was an inspector for Bic Pen Company for over 20 years before her retirement. Mrs. Leavy was an avid golfer and had the distinction of being the only woman on Bic’s golf team. She also loved bingo.

In addition to her devoted husband, Mrs. Leavy leaves her daughter, Deborah Homola, and her husband, Joseph, of Torrington, and her son, Frank L. Leavy, Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Hopkinton, NH; also five grandchildren, Gena (Leonard) Golas, Christa (Ryan) Allard, and Evan, Megan and Ashley Leavy; and three great grandchildren, Nora Margaret Allard, Leonard Joseph Golas and Peyton Pajak Leavy. She also leaves her brother, Steven Olexovitch, and sister, Ann Aulisio; brothers-in-law, Walter Leavy and Edward Leavy, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 12 siblings and her brother-in-law, Maurice Leavy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Maurice Maroney on Saturday, August 20th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
