Mary Ann Wasil

Mary Ann Wasil, age 51, of Milford, died peacefully in her home on Friday April 15th surrounded by her loving family.  Mary Ann was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 7, 1964 to her loving, Slovak parents, Helen Hricek Wasil and the late Edward Wasil. When Mary Ann wasn’t jammin’ to Fleetwood Mac, or seeing productions of Les Miserables around the globe, Mary Ann could be found at the Windmill with her three vivacious children eating hot dogs with the works. Her fourth baby, The Get In Touch Foundation, was born after her breast cancer diagnosis in 2004.  From then on, her life mission was to educate and empower girls all around the world as an inspirational breast cancer kickin’ survivor and health activist. Survivors include her cherished children: Betsy, Mary and Eddy Nilan, all of Milford; siblings: Edward Wasil, Deborah Dinan, Diane Erdos, Andrew Wasil, and Joseph Wasil and several nieces and nephews. Her children would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Ann’s brother-in-law, Joseph Erdos and nephews, Joseph and Matthew Erdos, as well as healing team members Father Thomas Ptaszynski, Kerry Robinson, and the Burmese Mountain pup, Odie. As requested by Mary Ann, please wear your brightest, most vivid colors, and your fanciest shoes! Friends and family are invited to greet the family on Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Thomas E. Golden Jr. Center, 268 Park Street, New Haven.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Thomas More’s Catholic Chapel at Yale University following calling hours, at 12:00pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Get in Touch Foundation, P.O.
