Stanley "Mickey" Mieczkowski

Stanley “Mickey” Mieczkowski, age 91, beloved husband of Genevieve “Gene”(Jerzyk) Mieczkowski of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 surrounded by his family at Seacrest Retirement Center in West Haven.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1924 in Fairfield and was the son of the late Stephen and Nellie (Novak) Mieczkowski. Mr. Mieczkowski served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and served during WWII. He worked as a general manager at Cooper Weymouth for 25 years and also a general manager for Brink & Cotton in Bridgeport for 3 years and then a machinery salesman for Pressmation in Bloomfield before his retirement.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Milford and an active member of the Milford Senior Center including the 50+ Club, the bowling league, and past vice president of the Men’s Club. He was also a member and past treasurer of the West Shore Seniors and enjoyed line dancing, golfing and traveling.

In addition to his devoted wife Genevieve of 63 years, he leaves two loving daughters, Sharon Adam and her husband Joseph of West Haven and Sandra Phaneuf and her husband Brett of Marshfield, MA, three grandchildren, Allen Adam, Matthew and Michelle Phaneuf and several nieces and nephews. His son, Alan Mieczkowski, two brothers, Charles and Edward Mieczkowski and his sister, Ann Micklowvich predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, Milford and interment to follow with Military Honors at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
