Veronica was a strong, supportive, and independent woman with a strong Catholic faith.  Those who have been impacted by her grace will cherish her always. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center and St. Gabriel Rosary Society. She is survived by her three children, Anthony Scalzi Jr. of Lake Ariel, PA, Susan Gill and her husband John of Orange and Joseph Scalzi and his wife Melissa of Ansonia. An adoring grandmother, she is survived by her 7 grandchildren: David Scalzi, Jennifer Woznick (husband, Stanley Woznick), Suzanne Vitaletti (husband, Robert), Robert Gill, Rose Scalzi, William Scalzi, and James Scalzi.  She will be lovingly remembered as “Baba” by her 5 great grandchildren: David Scalzi, Jr., Kenny Woznick, Brianna Woznick, Katelyn Vitaletti, and Taylor Gill.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law; Christine Scalzi, sisters; Anna Kowalick and Katherine Bunkoci and her brother Michael Glita.  Friends and family may call on Friday, January 20th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 am in Saint Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford followed by interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.  Veronica asked that any donations being made in her memory, go to St. Gabriel’s Church. The family would also like to thank the caring and compassionate nurses from CT Hospice that we were so fortunate to have taken care of her: Gin, Pindon, Kenda, Lydia, Woody, and caregivers Marsha and Reatha.
