William John Moyar

William John Moyar, age 85, beloved husband of the late Rita Moyar, died on Tuesday February 14, 2017.  Bill was born in Bridgeport on February 16, 1931 to the late John and Anna Erdos Moyar.  He was a proud Corporal in the US Air Force Veteran and a retired foreman from Dresser Industries.  He was the former owner of Paul’s Restaurant, Ye-Old Tavern and Marshes Steakhouse.  Bill was also a former member of the Germania Schwaben Club and the American Legion in Milford for over 35 years.  He was a JETS fan and loved going to the casino, gardening and playing golf.  Survivors include his daughters: Suzanne Barber (James) of New Haven and Linda Richter (Jerry Bennett) of IN, his companion and mother of his children; Jean Muller Lewis of Milford, five grandchildren; Melanie Kohlheim (Kevin) of OH, Lauren Carroll of New Haven, Michelle Montgomery (Calvin) of IN, Joseph Carroll III of East Haven and Cody Bennett of IN, six great-grandchildren; Katelyn and Megan Kohlheim, Jonathan Maroney, Clea, Bryson and Calvin Montgomery and one child on the way, his special niece: Cynthia (William) Jaques of Milford and his dear friends Betsy and Joe Kopis.  `Bill is predeceased by his sister; Emma Classy and nephew, Edward William Classy.  Friends and family may call on Monday from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm in THE GREGORY F DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am DIRECTLY in Saint Andrew Church, 395 Anton Street, Bridgeport.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
