William H Tickey Sr.

Mr. William H. Tickey, Sr., age 92, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Adela Tickey, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on June 12, 1924 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Charles and Anna Tickey.  Mr. Tickey was an electrical maintenance supervisor at Remington Products in Bridgeport for 34 years before his retirement and was a proud US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Bridgeport Old Timers and the East End Originals.  Mr. Tickey was also an award winner amateur bowler and golfer who had made two holes in one during his career.  Mr. Tickey leaves a son, William H. Tickey, Jr., four daughters, Marianne (David) Baril, Melissa Tickey, Melanie Barker, Marguerite (Keith) McLean, four grandchildren, Courtney Black, Ashley Barker, Stephanie Baril, and Sarah Spear, three great-grandchildren; Aurora Lynn and Roslin Adele Black and Lorraine Spear, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tickey is predeceased by his siblings; identical twin brother, Robert F. Tickey, Sr., Charles Tickey, Jr. and his two sisters, Rita Tickey and Marie Sullivan.  Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Morning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Milford. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT, 06405.
