Margaret Giustino Obituary

Margaret Giustino, age 88, of Milford passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Margaret was born in Waterbury on June 21, 1935 to the late Rocco and Mary Migliorisi Santagati.  She worked as an electronic assembler at Perkin Elmer until her retirement.

Margaret deeply loved her family. Margaret was a fabulous cook and her family is grateful for the Sunday dinners they were able to share with her.  In the early years, the family would visit the Milford beach from Waterbury with a pot of sauce in tow so they did not miss their Sunday dinner on the beach. One of her greatest accomplishments was setting down roots in the beautiful town of Milford while her children were still young. Beach life was the best life. She adored Milford so very much and always said you don’t need a vacation when you love where you live. She was dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle and was sure to share her ideas about health and wellness. She was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball team and would watch every game.  Margaret was tech savvy and would spend many hours on her iPad.  She loved connecting with friends and family through Facebook. She told everyone that she would have worked in computers if they were around when she was younger.  She was passionate about animals and loved the many cats and dogs that she rescued over the years.  Margaret’s compassion and concern for others was unwavering.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her best friend Johanna Kaizer, her children Marie (Donald) Brown and Frank (Holly Mulrenan)Giustino of Milford, her grandchildren Donald Brown, Cortney Brown, Rocco (Cassandra) Giustino, Thomas (Stephanie Calora) Giustino, Cheech Giustino and great grandchildren Alissa Grey, Mark Brown and several nieces and nephews.  Survivors include sisters-in-law Mary Butler and Genevieve Santagati.  Margaret was predeceased by her parents, sisters Beatrice (Roland) Manzi and Leonora (Rocco) Giustino and brother Carlo Santagati.

There will be visitation hours on March 24, 2024 from 2:30 to 5:00 pm with a family prayer service at 2:00 pm in the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Ave., Milford.  Interment will be private.
