Ann M. O'Connell

Ann M. O’Connell, age 87, of Milford, beloved wife of the late John E. O’Connell, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 24, 1930 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna K. (Arsenault) O’Donnell. Mrs. O’Connell worked at in factory for many years before fulfilling her passion for caring for others as a nurse’s aide at Milford Hospital and Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was an active member of Saint Ann Church and enjoyed singing in the choir before her illness. Ann was a Past Department Commander at the DAV Post in Bridgeport. Her great grandchildren, Aiden and Aislyn were the apple of her eye.

Mrs. O’Connell is survived by her devoted children, Kathleen O’Connell of Milford and Kerry Ross and her husband, James of Sandusky, Ohio and Kevin O’Connell, Sr. of Stratford, her brother, Robert Arsenault and his wife Gail of Florida, her grandchildren known to them as “Nanny,” Ann Marie McKernan and her husband Chris, Timothy Ross and Tyler Ross, Kevin O’Connell, Jr. and Zachary O’Connell. She also leaves great grandchildren, Aiden & Aislyn, Sadie and Benny, Noah & Jackson, Ashley & Collin, a great-great granddaughter, Deanna and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Tracey Chaves & Ryan O’Connell and brothers, Anthony Arsenault, Sr. and Raymond Arsenault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Ann Church.  Family and friends invited to greet the family from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the mass at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment will be private. The family would like to thank Frances Daves & the VITAS staff for their kind and compassionate care given to Ann and also the continuous and excellent care from Dr. Pang Wang and his staff.
