Barbara Jane (Shores) Weller

Barbara Jane Weller, age 85, beloved wife of the late Donald Robert Weller, entered peaceful rest on September 14, 2018 at CT Hospice.

She was born on March 10, 1933 in Milford and was the daughter of the late Nordell and Ruth (Herlihy) Shores. Mrs. Weller was a switchboard operator at Milford Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement. She enjoyed trips with the Milford Senior Center and was an avid card player and also enjoyed bingo.

Mrs. Weller is survived by her devoted children, Donald Weller, Jr. of Naugatuck, Laura Hunt and her husband, Louis and Lisa Streit all of Milford, lovingly known to her grandchildren as “Jana”, Matthew and Brian Streit, Kristen and Leigh Hunt, great granddaughter, Aurora Streit. She also leaves her longtime companion, John Takacs of West Haven and her former son in law, Tim Streit of Cheshire. Her sisters, Glenna Kaluzynski and Norma Shores predeceased her.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 22nd from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Committal will be private.
