Bryan John Wendland, age 42, of Derby passed away on July 26th after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on June 29th, 1977 in Bridgeport and was the son of Otto A. Wendland of Ansonia and Debra Wendland Price of Derby.
Bryan was a beautiful soul known and loved for his free spirit, big hugs, and even bigger heart.Always willing to lend a helping hand, his enthusiasm, positive attitude, and smile were contagious.
Bryan graduated from Derby High School in 1995 and worked for Derosier Moving & Storage of Stratford for many faithful years. He enjoyed attending music festivals, hiking, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his loving parents, Bryan leaves his cherished daughter, Angelena Lynn Wendland of Naugatuck, his siblings Michael Wendland (Val) of Ansonia, Sheri Mueller (Chris) of Naugatuck, Otto John Wendland (Robin) of Shelton, and Olivia Wendland of Shelton. He also leaves behind God parents,Melissa Tickey of Branford and Patrick Mizzone of New Jersey, Step-father William Price, his “Special Mom” Laurie Caputo, several nieces he adored along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bryan is predeceased by both maternal and paternal Grandparents as well as his Uncle, Michael Mizzone.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 at Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Ave, Milford CT. Interment will be private. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held at a later date TBD.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to an agricultural charity or local foodbank. Donations may also be sent to 21 Cadbury Place, Naugatuck CT to help support Angelena’s college fund.
