Carol (Frederickson) Gourdier

Joy “Carol” Gourdier, age 81, of Milford and formerly of Port St Lucie, FL, beloved wife of the late Joseph Gourdier, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  Carol was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 1, 1935 to the late Stanley Frederickson and Dorothy Neumann Frederickson. Carol was an active citizen in Milford for many years.  She was the PTA Council President of Milford and was awarded the “Milford Citizen of the Year” in 1980 for her volunteer work in support of the Milford School District. She was very involved with the Scouting organizations in Milford and received the distinguished service award by the Boy Scouts of America. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the family business in Milford and later for an accounting firm on Cape Cod. When she and her husband retired to Florida she was actively involved in her retirement community.

Survivors include her children: Stephen and his wife Sharon of West Haven, Patricia and her husband Thomas Chirico of West Haven, Michael and his wife Lisa of Orange and Linda and her husband Michael Sheahan of Ellijay, GA.; brother, George Frederickson and his wife Judy of FL.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, May 30th from 8:30 am – 10:30 am in THE GREGORY F DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment will follow in Middletown Veterans Cemetery.
