Dominick A Melone

Dominick A. Melone, age 92, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Marie Melone, died on Saturday August 18, 2018.  Dominick was born in Bridgeport on September 27, 1925 to the late Anthony and Amelia Matarazzo Melone.  He was a proud US Army Veteran who served in WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the 15th Infantry Regiment. He fought in Italy, France and Germany as was awarded a Distinguished Unit Badge and Purple Heart.

Dominick worked at Sikorsky for 35 years as a foreman.  Survivors include his children: Robert Melone (Mary) of North Haven and Janis Melone (Bryan Smallman) of New Haven, sisters; Martha Bartha and Antoinette Delprete, four grandchildren: Emily Cretella (Bryan), Sara Cannon (John), Stefaan Dupont (Sarah), Julian Dupont and three great-grandchildren; Avery, Madelynn, and Dylan and several nieces and nephews.  Dominick is predeceased by his siblings; Mary, Tom, and Connie.  The Melone family would like to give a special thanks to Kennedy Adu, Dominick's caregiver, for his compassion, friendship and skilled assistance.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am-11:00 am in THE GREGORY F DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am in the funeral Home and Interment will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation Inc.
