Edward J. Zynko

Edward J. Zynko, age 77, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Betty Jean Vasko Zynko, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  Edward was born in Bridgeport on July 5, 1939 to the late Michael and Helen Tolubinski Zynko.  He was a US Air Force Veteran and worked for many years as a meat cutter at several local establishments.  Later in life he became a job coach at the Hartford School for the blind.  Ed loved his family and his God with all his soul.  He worked his entire life to make sure his family was cared for.  Ed was a wonderful conversationalist, a movie buff, historian and loved to read.  Survivors include his children; Dawn (James) Serreti of Stratford, Edward E. (Evelyn) Zynko of New Haven, Peter Zynko of Milford, Samantha Zynko, and Chris Grasso (Amy) of New Hampshire, his many loved foster children, brother, Stanley Michael Zynko, 12 grandchildren; RJ, Rachael, Christopher, Andrea, Joshua, Michael, Olivia, Evangeline, Elijah, Ashley, Emma and Kyle, son-in-law, Gregory Chvirko of Seymour, close family friend and caregiver, Don Oberg and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ed is predeceased by his daughter, Irene Chvirko.  Friends and family may call on Sunday from 4:00 pm- 7:00pm in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 am in Saint James Church, Stratford.  Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
