Elaine Marie (Urbanowicz) Rohrig

August 9, 1937 ~ November 23, 2018 (age 81)

Mrs. Elaine M. Rohrig (Urbanowicz), 81, of Milford, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Medical Center on Nov. 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born on August 9, 1937 in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of 61 years and best friend of retired Milford firefighter, Frank C. Rohrig. She was predeceased by parents Vincent and Mary Urbanowicz, younger sister Barbara Buccetti, and brother, Richard Urbanowicz.

In addition to her husband, Elaine leaves her loving sons, Scott Rohrig (Joanne), Mark Rohrig, Jeff Rohrig (Carolyn) and daughter Cindy Holveck (William). She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, Joseph Rohrig (Bianca), Jared Rohrig, Jeremy Rohrig, Chelsea Casey (Logan), Casandra Holveck, Jeffrey Rohrig, Pierce Holveck and Justin Rohrig; three step-grandchildren Bryan, Kyle, and Dylan Bystrianyk; and great grandson, Jaxon Casey and her sister, Carol Alling (Charles) and several nieces and nephews. Elaine had the biggest heart and loved spending time with her family, watching UConn Women’s Basketball and the Yankees, and coloring. She always had a smile on her face and nothing made her happier than getting her “sugar” from her grandchildren. Elaine was an inspiration to all who knew her and will forever be remembered as a strong, compassionate, sassy woman. She enjoyed being a member of the Milford Fire Ladies Auxiliary. The family would like to express gratitude to all their family and friends, including their extended family at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, for their kindness and compassion. Elaine will be missed, but not forgotten.
