Geraldine (Gerry) French Ellis, age 80, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Ellis, entered eternal rest on May 10, 2018. Gerry was born in Bridgeport to George H. and Helenmarie French. Gerry worked at Bic Pen and retired from ADP. She was active in St Ann Church and school including parish council, choir, 50+ Club, religious education teacher, Vice President of the Home School and Past President of the Ladies Guild. She was active in Saint Mary’s Church as well, participating in the Legion of Mary, the Resurrection Choir, and facilitator of the St Mary’s bereavement group. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 15 years and led many to religious awards. Gerry volunteered at Milford Hospital, Beth-El Soup Kitchen and Milford Fine Arts. Her hobbies included making blankets for babies and rosary beads for the baptized babies at Saint Mary Church and to send to those in need. Survivors include her two daughters: Linda Ellis-Stiewing and her husband Brian, and Jennifer Girotto and her husband Maurizio, five grandchildren: Tyler and Justin Stiewing and Gabriella, Joseph and Alexander Girotto, siblings: twin sister, Irene Kollar, Helene Yurasek and her husband Michael, George French III and his wife Anita, Mary Beth Novotnak and her husband David and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Gerry is predeceased by her siblings: Georgiana and Margaret French and her former husband Robert Wasco, Maureen Harty and her husband John and Albert Kollar. Friends may call on Monday, May 14th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf Street, Milford on Tuesday, May 15th at 10:30 am.
