Hilde (Kausch) Janik

Hilde Janik, age 78, of Milford, beloved wife of Frank Janik for 54 years passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 17th, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Hilde was born to the late Otto and Martha Auch Kausch and lived her younger years in Germany before moving to America. While Hilde had many interests (especially reading and her garden), she had no greater love than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her family will forever cherish “Sunday Dinner”, a weekly gathering over which she proudly presided. She was a longtime parishioner and choir member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milford.

Survivors include her five children: Kenneth Janik (Tricia) of Milford, Thomas Janik (Ellen) of Shelton, Christine Zottola (Michael) of Shelton, Stephanie Ricci (Nicholas) of Milford and Jeffrey Janik (Lauren) of Milford as well as her 12 cherished grandchildren: Emily, Abigail, Meredith, Tommy, Tyler, Matthew, Ryan, Alexander, Christopher, Andrew, Mallory and Caroline. Hilde is also survived by her two sisters, Ingrid Kessler and Joan Dulberger, and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the Constellation Hospice team for their loving care.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday January 20th at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 21 Robert Treat Pkwy, Milford.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hilde’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
