John Michael Jannitto, age 88, of Milford, beloved husband of Madelyn Warminton Jannitto for 65 years, died on Tuesday, June 18th with his family by his side. John was born in Waterbury, CT on November 27, 1924 to the late Michael and Maria Varanese Jannitto. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1952 with a degree in Industrial Management. He was employed by Norden Systems, a division of United Technologies and retired after serving in several managerial positions for more than 37 years. John proudly served our country during WWII in the South Pacific aboard the Light Cruiser Denver as a Radarman earning 11 Battle Stars and two commendations. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan and enjoyed watching the UConn’s men and women teams. John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Milford Senior Citizens, Norden Retirees Club and the USS Denver Association. Survivors include his children: Joanne (Paul) Simoneau; Jerrilyn (Daniel) Duhamel; John (Colleen) Jannitto; and Jeffery (Susan) Jannitto, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his son; Michael Jannitto; three sisters and two brothers. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, June 21st at 11:00AM in Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford, CT. Interment will be private.
