Leila Walter, age 88, wife of the late Donald Walter, entered peaceful rest on Friday, November 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 23, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late William and Leila (Lock) Flanagan. Leila worked at the former Holiday Inn in Milford for many years and after retirement she went to work for Air Lock in Milford.
She is survived by five children, Denise Litchfield (James), Donna DeLauri (Philip), Richard Walter (Geraldine), Lisa Cowden (Kenneth) and William Walter all of Milford. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Jason DeLauri, Jeffrey DeLauri, Eric Litchfield, Ashley Walter, Kaitlyn Cowden, Michael Walter, Courtney Walter, Seth Armstrong and Ryan Walter and eight great grandchildren. Her son, Robert Walter, her brother, Richard Flanagan and her sister, Nancy Gallo predeceased her.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. A Graveside service will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G.
