Mark Elvis Brown, age 48, beloved husband to Izabela Charuta Brown of Milford, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 27, 1968 in Norwalk to Theodore Elvis and Patricia (Jefferson) Brown of Hamden. Mark attended Norwalk High School, where he was in the marching band, and he later graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University, where he was a resident assistant and pianist for the drama club. For over 20 years, Mark worked in finance as a stock trader for McMahan and BCP Securities. He was a very passionate and loyal employee who enjoyed both his profession and his coworkers. As an active member of Kingdom Life Christian Church, Mark served with the Children’s, Men’s and Parking ministries. He was a dedicated NY Yankees and Giants fan. Mark was a genuine “people person” who had an infectious smile, endless positive attitude, and always put everyone else first. His daughter, Maja, and his family were his pride and joy. Adhering to a personal mantra that every day is a gift to be enjoyed, Mark loved a variety of activities including traveling, reading, anything to do with cars, and learning history. He also had a great appreciation for all types of music and played the saxophone and piano.

In addition to his devoted wife and parents, he leaves his greatest joy, his daughter, Maja Brown, his sisters, Robin Brown-Whiston (Scott) of Bristol and Sandra Lynette Livramento (Joseph) of Stratford, and many loving extended family and dear friends, including those in his wife’s native country of Poland.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the exceptional care Mark received from the medical staff at Yale’s Smilow Cancer Center and Regional Hospice and Home Care.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kingdom Life Christian Cathedral, 1455 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Family and friends are invited to greet the family from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. and after the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to The Maja Brown Scholarship Fund c/o Tri-Town Teachers Federal Credit Union, 61 Jesup Road, Westport, CT 06880. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
