Mary Maxine (Durdy) Chadwick

Mary Maxine Chadwick, age 96, of Milford, beloved wife of 53 years, to the late Frank Chadwick, passed away on Nov. 11, 2018.

She was the daughter of the late Leon and Selma (Goebel) Durdy and was born on Apr. 28, 1922 in Pana, IL. She attended the Eastern Illinois University.  Mrs. Chadwick was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran and served during WWII in VA from 1944 -1946.  She worked as a secretary at GE in Bridgeport before raising her 8 children and returned to work at General Accident Insurance Agency in Orange before her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Donald (Jana), Patricia (Jack), Deborah (Wm), Janet (Beau), James (Anna), Mary Lou(Kevin), Jennifer (John), and Christopher (Myla). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Don Durdy.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov 16th at 10:30 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at Precious Blood Parish (Saint Mary Church) 70 Gulf Street, Milford followed by Military Honors. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the GREGORY F DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
