KAMINSKI- Nellie D’Andrea Kaminski, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph Kaminski with whom she shared more than 47 years, entered into eternal rest on October 13, just one month shy of her 101st birthday.  Mrs. Kaminski was born in Waterbury CT on November 15, 1911, to the late Santelo and Marie Bartholomew D’Andrea and was a Stratford resident for 60 years.  Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Andrea Marino and her husband Frederick of Stratford, one sister Stella Gentile of Fairfield, two grandchildren, Rick Marino and his wife Tracy of Milford and Joya Mitola and her husband Jim and two great grandchildren, Michael and Nell Mitola, all of Stratford and many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Kaminski was one of nine siblings and was predeceased by four brothers; Andrew, America, Frank and George D’Andrea and three sisters; Rose Pivarnik, Christine Cyr and Victoria Benedetto.  She was a wonderful caring person who liked to cook and sew for her family.  Even into her early 90’s she still made great pots of sauce and meatballs, eggplant and stuffed cabbage.  She did all this while watching her beloved Yankees.  She was a skilled seamstress with Fairfield Dress and Norman Dress shops until her retirement and loved every minute of it.  Maybe the key to a long life is loving what you do.  The  Jewish Home in Fairfield is where Nellie resided from age 99 after fracturing her hip.  Outings provided by the home to the mall and Captain’s Cove Seaport were fun.  Her Tuesday afternoon tea parties with “the girls” and visits to the café for ice cream were seldom missed.  The family wishes to thank all the staff who were involved in her care especially Michael, the  evening nurse, for his immense  compassion;  the aids especially Olinda, Ruby and Isabelle who each had a major roll in her care.  Also to Rachael and Tina for all they do and friends made along the journey like Joan,  Stella and Claire give new meaning to the word caring.  Friends are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30AM in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford, CT.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM in the Lordship Community Church, 179 Prospect Drive, Stratford followed by the Interment in Union Cemetery, Stratford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steeple fund in c/o the Lordship Community Church.  To honor the memory of Mrs. Kaminski, her church steeple will be lit for the entire month of November.  To leave an on-line condolence, please visit
