Robert W. Leopold

Robert W. Leopold, 72, of Shelton, CT passed away peacefully on October 1, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his children by his side after a long illness.  Beloved husband of the late Marguerite Leopold (nee Doerner). He is survived by his five children; Robert (Sally) of Foxboro, MA; Tammy (Kevin) of Glastonbury, CT; Tracy (Steve) of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; Jennifer (P.J.) of West Hartford, CT and Jaison of Shelton, CT. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.  Robert was born on July 8, 1946 in Bridgeport, CT to Antone Charles and Catherine May (nee Trivers) Leopold. Robert grew up in Bridgeport, CT and was a 1964 graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School. He spent his entire adult life in and around Shelton, CT.  He was employed for the last 25 years by Eversource Energy.  The family would like to thank Dr. David Witt and the staff at the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center. They would also like to thank the staff at the Vitas Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s in Waterbury. Your care and compassion will not be forgotten. Additionally, his children would like to thank Andrea at Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home for her friendship and support in his time of need.  Services will be private.
