Robert J Whelan Jr.

Robert J. Whelan Jr., eldest son of Robert and Donna Risley Whelan, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the age of 62. Bob was a beloved parent to Mary Claire and José Whelan, along with their mother, Teresa Suganski. He was a wonderful brother to Mary Ruth Whelan, Katie Williams Cooper, and Tom Whelan (who passed away in 2005), and a mentor to many in his community. 

We will be gathering to celebrate Bob’s life this Monday, July 22, from 4pm-7:30pm at Borough of Woodmont, 128 Kings Highway, Milford, CT.

Parking is available behind the building and at the library and day care center across the street.

From 5-6:30 we will be sitting together to share stories, hymns, and memories of Bob. If you have any pictures, memorabilia or other things you would like to share, please feel free to bring them. Light refreshments will be served.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Connecticut Bail Fund, a local organization that is dear to Mary Claire, Bob’s daughter, and whose work Bob admired, would be greatly appreciated. http://www.ctbailfund.org/
