Teresa B (Tanski) Monte Gendron

Teresa B. (Monte) Gendron, age 88, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 surrounded by her family at her home.  

She was born on June 29, 1930 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Bolick and Eleanor (Stomski) Tanski. Teresa was a medical secretary as well as a pharmaceutical assistant at Pathmark in Stratford for many years before her retirement. She also attended the University of Bridgeport.  

She was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed speaking with others in the language.  Teresa always found the good in people and was quick to offer a compliment. She enjoyed spending time in her yard and in her home with her family and was an avid scrabble player. She was a proud supporter of The Fischer House.  

Teresa is survived by her devoted children, Ted Monte, and his daughter Brittany of Stratford who were both honored to care for her for the last 10 years, DeeDee Monte of New Mexico, Matthew Monte, and his 3 children, Matthew, Paul and Erica Monte and her brother, Raymond Tanski of Stratford. She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Monte, husbands, Matthew S. Monte and William R. Gendron and four siblings, William Tanski, Irene Halpin, Eleanor Duhancik and Veronica Tanski. She was a beautiful woman who made everyone smile. She had a great sense of humor, a wonderful personality, and was loved by so many. She will be missed. 

Entombment will be held at Saint Michael Cemetery, Chapel Mausoleum, Stratford, on Friday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a go fund me page that has been set up to help with funeral expenses.  Please follow link below:
