Vincent "Beansie" James Bernardo, Jr.

Vincent James "Beansie" Bernardo, Jr. age 85, beloved husband of Janice (Randi) Bernardo of Milford, entered peaceful rest on March 15, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

He was born on January 7, 1934 in New Haven and was the son of the late Vincent James Bernardo, Sr. and Mary (Giannotti) Bernardo. Mr. Bernardo was a U.S. Navy veteran and proudly served during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner and operator of Bernardo’s Auto Body on New Haven Avenue in Milford for many years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Milford.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his stepson Kenneth “Scooter” Buzelle and his brother George Bernardo of Greenwich and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His brothers, Dicky and Buddy Bernardo and his sister, Cynthia Civitello predeceased him.

Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  Mr. Bernardo was very generous in donating to all veterans organizations and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
