Alice Decker Beket, age 96, of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 1, 2020. Alice was born in Newark, NJ on June 30, 1923 to the late George and Grace Decker of Bridgeport. Alice formerly worked at D.M. Reads of Bridgeport for 25 years before retiring. Alice was known as ”Rosie the Clown” and brought much joy to many people over the years as she marched in parades, visited hospitals, and performed at senior centers. She was an active member of the CT Senior Olympics, a member of the V.F.W. #145 since 1948 and volunteered at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven. Her great joy was belonging to the Milford Senior Center where she volunteered not only in the office, but also in the food program. She was an active member of Club B and a member of many local senior centers where you could always find her either dancing or playing Bingo She was known for being the “clothes pin bag lady” at all the craft shows. Miss Beket is survived by her beloved son; JR Beket of Milford, his companion and also beloved friend to Alice, Susan Streater of NYC, ‘adopted’ daughter, Laura of NYC, her brother; George Decker (Judy) of SC, Amber Carr (Kevin) and a niece and grand-niece. Alice was pre-deceased by her longtime companion Duncan Brown of Bridgeport. Services will be private.
