Alphonse R. Urso
Obituary
Alphonse R. Urso, age 95, beloved husband of Phyllis Lurie Urso of Orange, entered eternal rest on May 31, 2023.
He was born on April 4, 1928 in New Haven and was the son of the late Angelo and Theresa (Passamano) Urso. Mr. Urso was a traffic manager for many years for the former Furniture Transport in Milford and Lender’s Bagels in West Haven. In his later years, he and his wife exhibited their jewelry designs at nationally recognized juried art shows.
In addition to his wife, Al leaves his devoted sons, Stephen Urso of Milford and Robert Urso of Charleston, SC, three grandchildren, Alexandra, Matthew, and Brooke Ava Urso and two stepchildren, Jill Lurie of Boynton Beach, FL and David Lurie of Hamden. He also leaves his sister, Connie Torcellini of Myrtle Beach, SC and brother, Joseph Urso of Murrells Inlet, SC.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
