Upon her husband's failing health they returned to Connecticut, she ironically returned to Milford High in 2004 to live in Milford Senior Housing which was one of her old classroom which was converted to an apartment. She lived there until August of 2019, when she pulled her ligament and tore her meniscus. She moved into Regal Care in Torrington were she remained until her death.
She was a volunteer for Milford Senior Center for a few years and a proud member of Daughters of the Nile. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends.
