Diane H (Miller) Riley

Diane H. Riley, age 88, of Old Saybrook, died on Saturday, January 9th, 2021.  Diane was born in West Haven, CT on February 17, 1932 to the late Harold and Dorothy Elliot Miller.  She graduated from Milford High School in 1949 and was the President of the Milford High School EAN Sorority.  

Diane was the Managing Editor at the Daily Milford Citizen, Editor at the Stamford Advocate and Editor at the Westport Monthly Magazine Carousel.  She later worked for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, H. Pearce Real Estate Company and retired from William Raveis Real Estate. She was one of the founders of the Milford Co-op Nursery school.

Diane enjoyed taking walks along the shore, playing her weekly bridge game, reading, taking art lessons and painting with watercolors.  She was an animal lover, loved to fish, and always enjoyed her summer vacations with her family on Block Island. 

The family would like to thank her extended family at Gladeview Rehabilitation and Health Care Center who took such wonderful care of her and for the love they surrounded her with every day.  They would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Middlesex Hospital for everything they did for Diane during the last few weeks.

Survivors include her children: James B. Riley, Lisa Riley (Armando Pereira), Michelle Terribile (Michael), and Elizabeth Hill, six grandchildren; Karin, Justine, Zachary, Bernadette, Riley and Sarah, three great-grandchildren; Tyler Alexis and Billy. As well as her brother, Ricky Miller and stepsister, Joy Stoviak Flores of Costa Rica.  Zoe her fur baby kitty along with several nieces and nephews.

Diane is predeceased by her former husband James A. Riley, brother Harold Miller Jr., sister Margo Larson, step father Raymond T. Stoviak, and her son-in-law Robert Hill.

A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date and a graveside service will be held in private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
