Dianne, ‘Dee’, Forino passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024.
Dee was born and raised in Waterbury, CT and settled in the seaside town of Milford, CT.
Dee earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus, and
a Master of Science (English) from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT.
Dee worked as an Art Teacher in Stamford, CT and a Marketing Administrator at Unilever in Greenwich, CT.
For many years, Dee taught (ESL) English as a Second Language in New Haven, CT.
This career was so much more than a job. Dee cared deeply for her students and
their cultures, sharing her passion and gift as a teacher to help them navigate their
new journeys. She used familiar props and daily life family situations to make her lessons easily accessible to all her students.
Dee loved her home and neighborhood. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, sharing meals and spending time with her loved ones.
She was a member of the Milford Senior Center and the ‘Milford Walkers’, meeting up for hikes on all the local beaches to enjoy nature’s infinite beauty. Her additional hobbies included reading, creative writing, art and photography.
Dee was a strong, independent woman who always strove to be positive and to keep learning and
teaching throughout her life.
She always requested a name from each new acquaintance and then returned it with her thank you, goodbye.
Dianne (Dee) Forino will be greatly missed.
There will be a private Celebration of Life for Dee at a future date.
