Doreen Ann Zahornacky, 77 of Derby, entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2022 at Griffin Hospital. Doreen was born in Bridgeport Ct. on July 18, 1944. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Dorothy Zahornacky. A resident of Milford for many years, Doreen was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School. She was a long time hair stylist and owner of Deja Vu Hair Salon. After graduating from Gateway Community College in 1996, she became a counselor for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Doreen was steadfast in her commitment to serving the Lord. She was profoundly involved in several ministries and loved her church family.

Doreen is survived by her devoted daughter, Denise Ruggiero (Vincent), her son, Daniel Orza, four grandchildren, Chimene Wood (Daniel), Jocelyn Wigode (Adam), Deidra Sisk (Joseph), Marissa Ruggiero, three great grandchildren, Aeris, Lucas, Judah, brother Michael Zahornacky (Deborah), sister Susan Quagliaroli (Paul) and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her dear friend Kitty Grant Moore for her wonderful friendship and care shown to Doreen.

Service will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home.
