Dorothy Clair (Sanderson) Avery

Dorothy Clair Avery, age 95, of Milford, beloved wife of the late George Avery Sr., died on Monday, August 15, 2022.  Dorothy was born in Maspeth, NY on November 17, 1926 to the late James and Sarah Koenig Sanderson.  Dorothy cherished many great years at their family summer home in Corinth, NY with her family.  She will live on in their hearts and thoughts forever.  Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen Simeone and many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Dorothy is predeceased by her children: George Avery Jr., Dorothy Clapp, Sharon Woodward, and Jacqueline Kuban and siblings, James and William Sanderson and Anna Parsons.  A very special thank you to the entire staff of Maplewood of Orange, Constellation Health Care and all her "Baes" for their wonderful care.  Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, August 19th from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. following the Calling Hour in Kings Highway Cemetery, 270 Cherry Street Milford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
