Dorothy A. (Nitsche) Poulsen

Dorothy A. Poulsen, age 93, of Goshen, beloved wife of 67 years to the late Erik Poulsen, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2021.

Dorothy was born on July 24, 1928 in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Edward and Susan (Tomko) Nitsche. She grew up in Stratford, and after her marriage lived for many years in Milford before retiring and building a home in Virginia. After several years, she and Erik decided to move back to CT and spent the last 27 years in Goshen.

Dorothy started working at Avco Lycoming in Stratford when they first opened, left to raise her two children, and went back to work as an administrative assistant for the WJ Burton Insurance Agency for many years before her retirement. She loved to sew, and she loved animals, including her Dobermans, yellow Labs and various cats.

Dorothy is survived by her two devoted children, Jim Poulsen of Goshen and Susan Ohls of Lakeview, OR, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and Willow, her cat. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Nitsche, and her son-in-law, Ronald Ohls.
