Esther I. Pike, 88, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of the late Edwin E. Pike, Sr., passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born in Highland, IL, on July 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Elmer and Corine Haas Koch. Esther met the love of her life of 62 years, Edwin Pike, at Highland Lake in Highland, IL and moved with him to Milford, CT to make their home for their 5 children. Esther was very proud of her children, her grandchildren and great grand-children. She considered them her greatest accomplishment. Esther was known for her wonderful baking, especially her perfect chocolate chip cookies. She was employed for many years by New England Controls, Milford.
Survivors, include her children Edwin Pike, Jr. (Roberta) of Wallingford, Linda Sadick (Greg) of CA, David Pike of PA, Cynthia Ruggeri (Paul) of Orange and Brian Pike (Janice) of Wallingford, 10 grandchildren: Jillian, Kevin, Alicia (Ryan), Sara (Nolan), Jacob, Kyle, Corrine, Matthew, Anneliese and Emily and two great-grandchildren; Mason and Jackson, and several nieces and nephews. Esther is predeceased by her brothers, Bernard and Gerald Koch.
A walk-through visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10th, from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the calling hour at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Agnes Church, Milford (Precious Blood Parish). Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
