Evelyn (Smith) McMahon

Evelyn McMahon, age 94, of Stratford, died on Friday April 14, 2023.  She was born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1929 to the late John and Nellie Baran Smith.  She worked at Macy’s, Reads, and at the Jewish Home Survivors include her children: Sharon Clark of Stratford and Joseph McMahon and his wife Linda of Stratford, four grandchildren, Kristen Arsenault and her husband Dan, Matthew Clark, Danielle and Joey McMahon and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Clark and Mason Arsenault and cousin, Patricia Kerr of Bridgeport.  Evelyn is predeceased by her beloved brother, Edward Smith and son-in-law, Christopher J. Clark.

Evelyn loved family and friends, traveling, trips to Maine and her favorite place, Seaside Park beach.  She was a great cook and gardener, she grew beautiful roses.  The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of her care facilities 

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford.  Interment will follow in Saint Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
