George Joseph Zentkovich, Jr.

George Joseph Zentkovich, Jr., 76, passed away on Sunday May 14, 2023 at Bridgeport Hospital. For over 52 years, he was the devoted and loving husband to Barbara Zentkovich.  He was born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1946 to the late George Sr. and Pearl Zentkovich.

George was passionate about his Chicago Cubs and UCONN Huskies basketball.  The only love that superseded that was his undying love for his family, that he lived for and through.  He made sure to show that love everyday of his life.  He enjoyed many years of watching his sons play baseball and basketball, especially in their younger years when he was able to coach them.

George also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and collecting coins and watches.  He was a master of the art of conversation, freely discussing many topics with anyone who wanted to take part.

George will be sadly missed by his wife Barbara; son, Eric; granddaughter, Olivia and her mother Alicia; grandsons: Tyler and Ryan; sister, Theresa Pokrinchak; niece Marie Morris and her husband, Tim; nephew Frank Pokrinchak and his wife Elizabeth; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his son, Craig and brother, Paul.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on May 19, 2023 at St. Ann Church in Milford.  A visitation will be held at the church starting at 10am until the time of service.  All are invited to join George’s family for a time of celebration following Mass at the Bridge House Restaurant in Milford.
