Henry "Hank" Edward Christensen, Jr.

Henry Edward “Big Hank” Christensen, Jr., age 59, of Milford entered peaceful rest on March 5, 2020 at Griffin Hospital in Derby.

He was the son of the late Henry “Hank” Christensen, Sr. and the late Marie Jane (Stanton) Christensen and was born on May 28, 1960 in Milford. Hank was a longshoreman at Bridgeport and New Haven terminals.

Most of all, Hank enjoyed spending time with his grand kids and their family trips to Maine and he looked forward to a great party and dancing. He was a NY Giants fan. Hank had a love for the outdoors, whether he was spending time at the beach, hiking, fishing or camping.

Hank is survived by his three devoted children, Hank “Little Hank” Christensen and his wife Phyllis of Wallingford, Jennelle Dacunha and her husband Lino of Milford, and Ryan Christensen and his wife Nicole of Wallingford, six grandchildren, Preston, Autumn, Belle, Jace, Skylar and Kiley and the love of his life, Cherrie (Greene) Christensen of Milford. He also leaves his siblings, Elaine Bataille of Milford, David Christensen of Milford, Deborah Massaro of West Haven and Janet Serra of Milford, many nieces and nephews and his father’s wife, Nancy Christensen of Orange. He was a beloved member of the Greene family. His sisters, Patricia Beliveau and Susan Smith predeceased him.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment to follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
