Inez T Adkins

Inez T. Adkins, age 82, of East Haven, (formerly of Jamestown, RI) beloved wife of the late Donald R. Adkins Sr., died on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021.  Inez was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 10, 1938 to the late Adelino Rodrigues and Lillian Candeias Rodrigues.  Inez worked at Heating Oil Partners for many years.  She is survived by her children: Donald R. Adkins Jr. and his wife Dianne of Hawaii and DawnMarie (Adkins) Portoff and her husband Howard of Milford, CT, and grandchildren Jacob (Florence) Adkins and Pauline Adkins of Hawaii, Christine (Sean) Theiss and Theresa Adkins of Oregon, Amanda, Gayle and Sara Portoff of Milford, CT. Inez was very proud of her many great grandchildren all over the country.

Inez was blessed to have a second chance at love, when she and the late Clyde Park (Jamestown, RI) created a new family.  That family included Clyde’s daughter, Barbara Pierson and grandchildren, Lynn Hellman and Russell Pierson of Rhode Island. 

Inez enjoyed traveling, books, art, music, and creating her amazing crafts – everyone always received a beautiful handmade card for special occasions. The thing she loved most was spending time with family, and was she a trooper.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it is with props/costumes for the musical theater or attending Red Hat lunches in Hawaii with her daughter-in-law.  Inez was always excited to attend as many school shows, concerts and sporting events as she could, whether it was in person or virtual, not even rain, snow, or heat, could stop her from supporting her family.
