Jim Jackson Jr., age 79, of Milford, beloved husband of Donna Jackson, for 57 years, passed away due to Parkinson’s disease on March 11, 2018 with his family by his side. Mr. Jackson was born in Greenwich, CT on December 7, 1938 to the late Jim and Dorothy Jackson. He served as a volunteer fireman and a boy scout leader for several years. Jim and his family moved to Milford in 1979 where he served on the Milford flood and erosion board and was a founding member of the Silver Sands Homeowners Association. He was a longtime active parishioner of St. Andrew’s Church. Following his retirement from Hartley and Parker Distributors, he volunteered at the BethEl Soup Kitchen. Jim enjoyed making woodcarvings of the birds that visited his feeders. In addition to his wife Donna, Jim is survived by his son, Jim Jay Jackson and his wife Vannessa; grandsons: Joshua, Brian, Luke and Derrick, his sister-in-law, Patrice Grote and brothers, Thomas and Robert. Jim was predeceased by his son, Derrick Lee Jackson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Milford Health Care Center and the Constellation Hospice team for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 am in St. Andrew’s Church, 283 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment will be private.
