John Callan, Sr. Obituary

John Joseph Callan, age 97 of Milford beloved husband of the late June (Dingwall) Callan, entered peaceful rest on December 2, 2021.

He was born on March 21, 1924, in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Hugh John and Margaret “Madge” (Darcy) Callan. Mr. Callan was a U.S. Naval Reserve veteran, served in WWII and continued to serve for many years. He volunteered with the Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts and Civil Defense. He was an avid scuba diver, camper, woodworker and world traveler.
Mr. Callan is survived by his loving children, Jamie (June-Marie) Callan, her husband William Thompson and John Callan, his wife, Susan Callan, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and his devoted companion, Beverly Mae Aker of Lexington, MA. He was predeceased by his six brothers and sisters.
Services will be held in private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
