John D Goncalves

John D. Goncalves, age 64, of Milford, beloved husband of Laura L. Goncalves for 40 years, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  John was born in Portugal on October 15, 1957, to the late Alberto and Emelia Goncalves.  He was a US Marine veteran and worked in architectural design at TranSystems in Norwalk for many years.  In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, John M. Goncalves (Melissa) of West Haven, grandson, Jackson Goncalves, sisters, Victoria “Carmelina” Goncalves of Bridgeport, and Maria Rodi (Frank) of Shelton, brother, Fernando Goncalves of Shelton and sister-in-laws, Teresa Goncalves and Pat Skudlarek (Carl) and several nieces and nephews.  John is predeceased by his son, Eric W. Goncalves, brother, Antonio (Tony) Goncalves and sister, Preciosa “Priscilla” Goncalves.

John loved spending time with his family and his eyes always lit up when his boys were near which included his grandson, Jackson.  He was very passionate about his work and took pride in everything he did. He was an avid New England Sports fan, loved working with his hands and fixing everything on his own. He will remain forever in our hearts and will be extremely missed.

Friends and family may call on Saturday March 26th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
