John Thomas

John Thomas, age 61, beloved husband of Gladys Hughes for 40 years, entered peaceful rest on January 27, 2021.  He was born on February 2, 1959 in Milford and is the son of the late Vincent and Betty (Cobb) Thomas. John was a toolmaker at Sikorsky for the past 33 years.  He loved fishing, especially with his grandchildren, and loved watching them play any sport.  In addition to his wife, John leaves four daughters, Tara Marie Surel (Chris) of Madison, Angela Rose Thomas of East Haven, Christina Ann Hurd (Michael) of Milford and Johna Melodie Derosier (James) of Seymour and is predeceased by his cherished daughter Sharon Teresa Thomas.  He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, Shauna, Charlee, Kaylee and Travis Brotherton, Tyler and MaKayla Dowdy, Mikey, Emily and Joey Hurd, Dusk Derosier, Sharon DeCarlo, Olivia Derosier and Brenda (Dodd) Yates. He also leaves his brother Ken Thomas of New Milford and Rose Thomas of Milford and so many first cousins, nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his brother and sister, Vincent and Sally Thomas.  A walk through visitation will be held on CHANGED to WEDNESDAY, Feb. 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, Feb. 4th at 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at St. Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish), 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford.
