Josephine Brigantic, age 90, of East Haven, beloved wife of the late Charles Brigantic, entered eternal rest on September 11, 2022.
She was born in Bridgeport on December 30, 1931 to the late Joseph and Catherine (Nicpan) Orzechowski. She graduated from Saint Mary’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn in 1955 and did hospital nursing in Brooklyn and in Bridgeport for a number of years. She then started going to work as a night shift nurse for Schick Razor in Milford in 1974 and retired in 1991. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Brigantic is survived by her devoted children, Jane (Dave) Chick of East Haven and Charles “Chuck” Brigantic of East Haven, grandchildren, Sarah (Perry) Vlahos of Wayne, PA, John (Emily) Chick of Norwalk, David (Jennifer) Chick of Hamden, Victoria (Matthew) Williams of Guilford, Maura (Rey) Ayala of Hamden, Mary Kate (Alexander) Hambright of Tucson, AZ, Colin, Xing and Ze-Xing Briganitic all of Hamden, great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Charlie Williams, Theodore and Anna Vlahos, Elliot and Anthony Chick and Holly Hambright, sister, Mary Cortese of PA and brother, Fred Orrell of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Josephine is predeceased by her brothers, Francis, Stanley and John and sisters, Sophie, Ceil and Helen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 16th at 10:30 a.m in Saint Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish) 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 15th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in THE GREGORY F.
